The Story Behind “Fox Den Photography”
Why Fox Den?
When I first picked up a camera in 2018, I knew this would be more than just a creative outlet. I knew it was the start of something deep, that would have a real impact. So when it came to naming my business, I knew I needed a name that captured the energy of what I am creating. The common choice is to name it after the photographer, but my first name and married last name are a spelling and pronunciation headache….
More importantly, I wanted something that felt bigger than just me.
Enter my dog, Roz.
My now 15 year old pup, my tiny Queen of the yard, has always reminded me of a fox and carried this undeniable presence. She’s playful, confident, and fiercely independent. She knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to tell you. She doesn’t fit in a box and doesn’t shrink herself for anyone.
Her appearance sparked the idea, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized “The Fox Den” perfectly represented what I wanted this business to be.
Your Space to Retreat and Recharge
In the wild, a fox den isn’t just a home—it’s a sanctuary. A cozy, hidden place where a fox rests, regroups, and gets ready to take on the world again.
That’s exactly what I wanted my studio to feel like. A retreat. A place where you step away from the noise, the expectations, the endless to-do lists, and lean into you, whoever that is for the day. A space where you can feel safe, celebrated, and completely at ease in your own skin.
We have more goals that just taking stunning photos together (though we will do that). We are also finding joy in the process. Letting go. Embracing the unfiltered, unposed, fully authentic moments too.
Fox Den Photography exists to create a space for women to feel at home in their own skin and to emerge from our sanctuary more confident, bold, and in love with themselves.
Whether you’re joining us with nervous excitement or ready to fully showcase your power, you’re exactly where you belong.
